Best Medicare Advantage Companies

If you’re a senior citizen, it’s important to make sure that you’re getting the best care possible. That’s why it’s important to research Medicare Advantage companies and find the one that is right for you. Although there are many companies out there, not all of them are created equal. So, how do you know which company is right for you?

In the US News and World Report article, they state A Best Insurance Company for Medicare Advantage is defined as a company whose plans were rated as at least three out of five stars by CMS and whose plans have an average rating of 4.5 or more stars within the state.

It can be tough to figure out which Medicare Advantage company is right for you. But don’t worry, we’re here to help. We’ve compiled a list of the best Medicare Advantage companies based on customer service, coverage options, and more. Check out our list and find the perfect Medicare Advantage plan for you!

What is the Most Popular Medicare Advantage Plan?

The most popular Medicare Advantage plan is the HMO plan. This type of plan requires participants to use a network of healthcare providers in order to receive coverage. Patients who choose an HMO plan must also receive all of their care from within the plan’s service area. HMOs are categorized as either point of service (POS) or exclusive provider organizations (EPO). POS plans require patients to use providers within the network but also allow them to receive care outside of the plan’s network. An HMO EPO plan only allows you to receive care through designated providers.

Since an HMO limits your choice of doctors and healthcare facilities, premiums tend to be lower than for other Medicare Advantage plans. However, you will pay less if you stay within the network. There is always a tradeoff with health insurance – more freedom at a higher price versus more restrictions on where you can access medical services at a lower cost. There are other types of plans offered by private insurance companies to help patients access care in preferred hospitals or clinics that are not within the plan’s network. These are called non-HMO plans since they do not require participants to choose a primary care physician when signing up for coverage. The various non-HMO plans work differently, so it is best to read through program details carefully before making a decision.

What are the Best Medicare Plans in California?

The article lists four plans for CA. Sharp Health Plan, Kaiser Permanente, Alignment Health Plan, and Scan Health Plan. I am an independent insurance broker and I represent Alignment and Scan amongst many other companies. I have a lot of clients in both Alignment and Scan. Sharp and Kaiser don’t work with independent agents and I don’t represent them and that is fine.

What is Chris Duncan’s Service

What I do is a full-service comparison of all the plans for my clients including plans I don’t represent. My goal is to help my clients get the right program for their specific needs.

Should I Call Insurance Company Directly?

What happens is if you call the company directly, for example, Kaiser, Alignment, Sharp, Scan, or any other company for that matter they will only tell you about their company’s benefits. There is no shopping or comparison of competing companies. With our company as independent brokers, we are able to compare costs and benefits for all the companies available. Not just the plans we represent.

How Do I Make My Service Work?

When we get a new call we ask which plan you have an interest in and why. Our next step is to go to work. We first ask who your doctor and providers are and what prescriptions you take. We want to make sure the plan you are looking at is contracted with your doctor and providers already and also covers your prescriptions. If the plan you have an interest in isn’t contracted with your doctors or providers or covers all your prescriptions, I can easily search all of the plans to see which plans are contracted with your doctor’s providers and cover your prescriptions. What we are doing is comparing all of the companies to find the plan that fits your needs. Not the other way around. When contacting the insurance company they are trying to make you fit the insurance company’s needs.

What Does an Independent Insurance Agent Do?

We first want to know your providers and doctors and prescriptions what services are important to you.  Our goal is not to fit you into the right plan, but to find the plan that fits your needs the best.  Not for you to fit the needs of the plan.

How Do You Professionally Represent a Company?

There are times when I will tell someone that one of the companies we don’t represent will probably fit your needs better than the companies I represent. I represent every company that works with independent brokers which are over 90% of the plans available. But sometimes it is in the best interest of the client to recommend a company we don’t represent.  It doesn’t happen a lot but it certainly does and I am glad to help.
